WordPress started in 2003 with a single bit of code to enhance the typography of everyday writing and with fewer users than you can count on your fingers and toes. Since then it has grown to be the largest self-hosted blogging tool in the world, used on millions of sites and seen by tens of millions of people every day.

Everything you see here, from the documentation to the code itself, was created by and for the community and was released on May 27, 2003, by its founders, Matt Mullenweg and Mike Little. WordPress is an Open Source project, which means there are hundreds of people all over the world working on it. (More than most commercial platforms.) It also means you are free to use it for anything from your recipe site to a Fortune 500 web site without paying anyone a license fee and a number of other important freedoms.

    • Definitely we all love WordPress… I never knew I could do something or talk about something that will get people’s attention, and even move them to like and share what I talked about…. WordPress made it possible for me to give to the world what I like doing and I found great joy within… Thanks for the comment… Our blog will mature someday to become a Site… Focus, determination and giving the best of YOU will make it possible…

  6. In August, I have started my first blog on WordPress and I have never had an idea in few days only I started enjoying this space the way I do. It introduce you with the community across the globe and once you started the day is no far that these people become your second family. I loved it.     • I concur… WordPress is just so amazing…. I didn’t know everyone is a writer (including me) until I met WordPress (as long as you are Human, you have a Story that consist of numerous Words).. They give you that freedom you need to make every your word count (not just), they give you that freedom to make your Words Press and Pierce the Heart of everyone that come across it (all of your words)… The Family I have gotten here are wonderful… Including you Vishal… Thanks for the comment
